Veolia announced on Friday that it has signed an agreement with Science City Guangzhou Investment Group for a decarbonization project in China, following the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to the country.

The project involves capturing and repurposing flue gases from one of China's main industrial hubs, the Guangzhou Development Zone. According to a press release, the initiative aims to reduce annual carbon emissions by 200,000 tonnes while generating a new energy resource for local businesses.
