Finnish construction giant YIT has been selected to carry out a sub-contract in the Espoo Urban Railway project, covering the section between Espoo city center and Kauklahti. This was announced in a press release. The contract is valued at approximately 73 million euros, equivalent to just over 780 million Swedish kronor, and will be recorded in YIT's order backlog during the first quarter of 2026.

Preparatory work is set to begin in March, with the project expected to be completed in 2029.
