YouTube has announced an increase in its subscription prices in the United States, with the individual Premium plan rising from $13.99 to $15.99 per month. The family plan now reaches $26.99, a $4 increase, while the streamlined YouTube Lite version is offered at $8.99 monthly. The YouTube Music Premium subscription is also increasing by one dollar to $11.99.

The group justifies these adjustments by the need to support the development of its services, notably ad-free playback, background listening, and access to its music catalog. This decision comes amid a generalized rise in costs within the streaming industry, prompting platforms to revise their economic models.

Owned by Alphabet, YouTube has surpassed the 125 million subscriber mark for its Premium and Music offerings, up from 100 million in 2024. This growth underscores the increasing role of subscription revenue in the group's strategy, complementing its historical advertising business.
