(Alliance News) - Sparkle, a global operator of the Tim group, has signed an agreement with Pccw Global, Telecom Egypt, and Zain Omantel International to build the Asia-Africa-Europe-2 submarine cable system, which will connect Hong Kong, Singapore, and Italy via Thailand, the Arabian Peninsula, and Egypt, as reported by Milano Finanza on Thursday.
The project aims to enhance connectivity between the three continents with a resilient, high-capacity infrastructure, landing in Italy at the Genoa Landing Platform. It will support cloud, digital content, and technological transformation, the newspaper continues.
"AAE-2 strengthens our Asia-Africa-Europe corridor," said CEO Enrico Bagnasco, emphasizing the integration between submarine and terrestrial networks. The partners praise its impact on global digital growth.
