We will do this through proactively identifying and managing risks, complying with regulatory obligations, and embedding strong environmental leadership. We are committed to managing air and emissions, waste, water use, land management and disturbance, biosecurity, biodiversity and environmental nuisance impacts in a way that is systematic, proactive and transparent.
Our Approach
Our approach is based on leadership accountability, organisational clarity, appropriate planning, clear communication, effective operational controls, monitoring through performance evaluation and continuous improvement. We aim to:
build awareness and capability by supporting employees and contractors in understanding their environmental responsibilities;
plan for environmental risks and opportunities by identifying potential impacts to the environment and managing them;
embed environmental controls by implementing effective procedures, maintaining appropriate documentation, and responding to incidents appropriately;
monitor performance and compliance by measuring environmental outcomes, undertaking audits, and identifying and addressing non-compliances to prevent recurrence;
drive continuous improvement by regularly reviewing environmental performance, identifying and responding to emerging risks and opportunities; and
seek to foster a culture where environmental responsibilities are understood andwhere doing the right thing is supported.
Goals and Measuring Progress
We will regularly assess and measure the effectiveness of our systems and controls, using data and insights to guide priorities and setting goals to track performance.
Our progress will be monitored through reporting to senior management, the Board, regulators and public disclosure, reinforcing our commitment to continual improvement and regulatory compliance.
